Body & Breath

Here you can listen to a mindfulness exercise from my CD "Mindfulness-Silence in the noise of everyday life". In the exercise, you will be guided to feel your body from head to toe, gradually relaxing your whole body and finding more peace of mind. At the same time, you become aware of your breathing and open up to deeper breathing. When we breathe calmly, slowly and consciously, fatigue, anxiety, depression and racing thoughts will tend to disappear or ease and you will often feel re-energized. This exercise is good if you're new to mindfulness and it gives you a good respite in everyday life, for example after work or studies, just before you face the challenges and joys of family life. The exercise can be performed sitting or lying down and lasts approximately 8 minutes. If you're sitting, it's important that your back is upright so you have plenty of room to breathe freely. If you do the exercise lying down, it's best to lie on your back, perhaps with a pillow to support your knees. You can place your hands on your stomach to better feel the deep and calming abdominal breathing during the exercise.

I hope you enjoy using the exercises on my site.
